Ekiti State Governor and Nigeria Governors’ Forum Chairman Kayode Fayemi will deliver a lecture on Nigeria’s unity at the forthcoming 50th anniversary of Arewa House, slated for Saturday, 31st October in Kaduna.
Former Vice President, Architect Namadi Sambo is expected to Chair the lecture session, where Fayemi will be speaking on the topic; ‘Unfinished Greatness Towards A More Perfect Union in Nigeria’.
Director Arewa House, Dr Shuaib Aliyu, who stated this in Kaduna at the weekend, also said that former Kano State Governor and former Education Minister, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau will chair the afternoon session, while the Executive Secretary, Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), Prof. Elias Suleiman Bogoro will serve as the speaker.
He said that other top dignitaries from across the country and beyond are expected to grace the event, which will also include exhibitions on the life and times of the late Premier of Northern Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello.
He said the living room and bedroom of the late Sardauna had been returned to the way they were before his death 54 years ago, which he said would be exhibited.
“Arewa House was established in 1970 by the then Northern government to immortalise the legacies of Sir Ahmadu Bello.
“Former Vice President, Arch. Namadi Sambo will serve as chairman of the morning session, we have invited from the South, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State to serve as the first speaker on the topic; ‘Unfinished Greatness Towards a more Perfect Union in Nigeria’.
“The afternoon session will be chaired by Sen. Ibrahim Shekarau, with Prof. Elias Bogoro as the speaker. He is to speak on the topic; ‘Accessing Education: Compelling Leadership Obligation of the Northern Elites’. We have invited all ex-heads of state, governors, traditional rulers from the country, serving and ex-ministers to celebrate the milestone recorded by Arewa House in the last 50 years.
